GO INTO THE WORLD TO SERVE AS CHRIST'S DISCIPLES
As a part of our church mission to Gather, Grow, and Go, Trinity's outreach into our community is essential to church life. Trinity is involved with many mission projects throughout the year. ASP is a Christian, volunteer home service and repair ministry with the mission of making the homes of Central Appalachia warmer, safer, and drier. Trinity has sent mission teams including youth and adults to ASP since 1984. Trinity sent 4 teams to Trade, Tennessee in July 2021.
Trinity partners with projects to benefit the children and families at Claymont Elementary School through clothing and school supplies donations and providing mindfulness programs for students and teachers.
Food donations are collected and delivered to the Claymont Community Center Food Closet. The Food Closet is dedicated to providing fresh, healthy foods to the adults and children in our community with low incomes who are experiencing hunger or are in danger of experiencing hunger.
EDR is supported by volunteers from more than 90 churches, synagogues, and civic groups that prepare and serve meals on a rotating basis to feed the hungry in Wilmington. Each month, a team of volunteers from Trinity helps prepare and serve a hot lunch to more than 150 people.
Clothing donations are collected and delivered to the Friendship House in Wimington.
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief agency that has been fulfilling its commitment to end hunger since 1998. Rise Against Hunger provides over 70% of its pre-packaged meals to support transformational development programs; 10% is reserved to respond to crisis situations. Trinity hosted its first high-energy, multi-generational meal packaging event in 2013 and we have packaged well over 125,000 meals over the years for Rise Against Hunger.
